Cherokee Brick management recognizes the safety of its workforce as priority. As such, management will ensure that the needed financial, material and personnel resources are provided to achieve the goals and objectives of the safety and health program as well as have available in the main office a copy of all federal, state, and local safety health regulations.

EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN

The company is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace. This program's objective is to ensure emergency action plans are created prior to work beginning onsite and to prepare employees to deal with them. This will ensure quick, correct, and decisive responses to minimize injury and loss of life. Employees of the company will be informed of this plan and trained to respond to emergency situations.

FIRE PREVENTION PLAN

The objective of this program is to prevent fires in the workplace and to provide employees with the necessary information to recognize hazards and take appropriate action if a fire does occur. This program will ensure quick, correct, and decisive responses to minimize injury and loss of life. Employees will be informed of this program and trained in response to fires.

ILLNESS & INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAM

In order to ensure that the safety and health of our employees is always prioritized, this program has been developed to outline the appropriate steps for achieving safety excellence. This plan focuses on being proactive rather than reactive. These guidelines are intended to eliminate hazards before they lead to accidents, and we want to strive for continuous improvements.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT PROGRAM

This program is intended to create a clear program for employees and supervisors to follow to ensure that the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is correctly managed. The proper adherence to and implementation of this program will ensure that employees are provided with PPE that is adequate for protection based on the tasks performed.

Cherokee Brick is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees. The objective of this program is to ensure that all hazardous materials in the workplace are evaluated prior to use and that protective mitigations are in place. This program is also to ensure that the information about these materials is effectively communicated to employees. 

This program applies to all company operations.

HEAT ILLNESS

This Heat Illness Prevention Plan (HIPP) applies to all Cherokee Brick employees who work in areas of employment or on job tasks where the environmental risk factors for heat illness are present and are at risk for developing heat illnesses if they do not protect themselves appropriately.

BLOOD BOURNE PATHEGEONS

The company is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace. The following Bloodborne Pathogen Program is provided to help ensure that employees have instructions and reference materials to aid in protecting themselves and others.  Proper use and application of these principles will help to minimize or eliminate risk of exposures in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030, “Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.”

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM

This program is intended to provide clear guidance for employees and supervisors in order to ensure the use of respirators is properly implemented, managed, and maintained 

The Respiratory Protection Program applies to all employees, contractors, and others who work on company sites who must use respiratory protection.

HAND & PORTABLE POWER TOOLS

The company is dedicated to the protection of its employees from on-the-job injuries. This program has been adopted to ensure hand and power tools are properly used and maintained. Outlining the requirements by tool type, as in this plan, helps to simplify those requirements. The program applies to the use of all manually powered tools as well as portable powered tools.

LOCKOUT/ TAGOUT PROGRAM

The objective of this program is to establish a means of controlling energy to prevent the accidental start-up of equipment or release of energy. This policy applies to all employees who conduct work where the unexpected start-up or energization of the equipment or release of stored energy could be hazardous.

CONFINED SPACE

The company is dedicated to the protection of employees from on-the-job injuries. The purpose of this program is to implement a policy for safe entry into confined spaces. Work in a confined space is highly hazardous. This program outlines the responsibilities of all involved parties. It is intended to provide safety requirements in accordance with OSHA’s Confined Space Standard 1910.146. When properly implemented and maintained, this policy is an important part of an effective confined space program.

The Welding, Cutting, and Hot Work Program has been established to protect the safety of employees and property by establishing appropriate hot work procedures. This policy applies to all employees and all facilities.

FALL PROTECTION

The company is dedicated to the protection of employees from on the job injuries. The purpose of this program is to assist in the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of fall hazards to which employees will be exposed, and to provide specific training as required by OSHA 1910 Subpart D. 

 

It is the policy of this company to protect employees from injuries by properly implementing safe work practices and consistently enforcing those policies. When properly implemented and maintained, this policy is an important part of an effective fall protection program. By adhering to the rules and regulations in place, work at heights can be done safely and efficiently

The company is committed to the prevention of accidents and injuries in the workplace. This document will outline the requirements for the safe operation of aerial lifts. 

This policy applies to all aerial lifts utilized by the company.

ELECTRICAL

To establish requirements and procedures for the examination, installation, use and testing of continuity and resistance of electrical power tools, equipment, power cords and receptacles in order to prevent electric shock or other injuries resulting from direct/indirect electrical contact to employees working on or near energized or de-energized parts.
